Started at A Do or Dye Salon and Day Spa: April 2007
Services that I offer: Highlights, Dimensional blonding, surface lights, one /two process color, gray blending, gray covering, ombre color, custom color, extensisions, hair design, texture cuts, custom cuts, updos, coppola smoothing treatments, make-up application from natural to dramatic. Make-up lessons, I feel like I’m forgetting something…basically everything but perms (allergic) and men’s cuts. I am also the artistic and educational director for the salon, a color specialist, and BareMinerals certified make-up artist.
Currently working on: Bringing everything that inspires me to life weather its in the form of new color technique, cutting or some other form of art.
Things that make me laugh: Um…what doesn’t? I try to find the humor in everything. In life you gotta laugh ;)
Places you would want to visit: Brazil, Bora-Bora, Egypt, all beaches and pools with swim up bars ;), the prisma color factory, the swan nebula, wonderland.
Must have at A Do or Dye: hmm…that’s tough to pick because everything’s so awesome!! Glance through the menu, you’ll see what I mean….try it all!!
Currently obsessed with: that’s a loaded question because I have OCD!! Ha ha ha. But I’m always into art, fashion, music, books, science and color. Oh… and vacuuming and the container store
When did you know this profession was for you? I always knew I would be doing something with art and color. I come from a strong art/painting back round so it was a natural progression… one path lead to another and voila… Here I am!
How long have you been in this profession? In this life or my past life??..just kidding… 13 years
How would you describe your approach to doing hair color? Oh man…how much time do you have? I could go on and on…but Ill sum it up short and sweet. I’m an Artsy/perfectionist. If it’s not right it’s wrong. I don’t like cookie cutter color, meaning if you and all your friends came to me and all of you had blonde hair, you all would leave with a personalized shade or placement. None of you would look the same. I’m a color chameleon, I personally love to change it up, I believe everyone can wear something in every color family…the key is tone, shade, level and placement.
What inspires your creativity? Art, music, my friends, clients, traveling, books, everything really. Life’s a great canvas and I’ve got a lot of paint.
What advice would you give to someone considering your services for the first time? Be prepared for an in-depth consultation. I like to dig in and formulate a plan that will work best for you both esthetically and functionally in your lifestyle.
How do you customize your services for each and every client? What! And tell my secrets? No way! Come in and experience it yourself that’s the only way you’ll really understand ;)
What celebrity always has great hair? Way too many to pick!! I like anyone who’s willing to change it up. Change takes courage and confidence and there’s nothing greater than that…
What’s your approach to returning clients? Same as first time clients, a lot can happen in-between appointments with life, medications, job interviews, hot dates, ect. ect… I don’t expect you to want the same thing every time. If you want the same thing, great. If you want something new, great. Your hair is the accessory you wear every day, I want it to be right for you.
Describe your personal style: It really depends on what is inspiring me at the moment. I change it up a lot, week to week, month to month. But no matter what… I love love love shoes!!! They walk every step with you and they are just the best!!!
