What are you obsessed with at A Do or Dye? I love the Redken Shades Cream. It is so rich and produces a nice shine for the hair. It also is true to tone making it very easy to work with.
When did you know this profession was right for you? In preschool, I chopped the right side of my hair all the way up to my ear and was always cutting my Barbie’s hair. I realized, that even at a young age, I had a passion for doing hair. These experiences lead me to enroll in cosmetology school.
How long have you been doing color? Six years
How would you describe your approach to doing hair color? I love to start off with a good consultation with my client. During this time, we would look at pictures and swatches to determine what will look good with their skin tone. I would also ask questions about the client’s needs in order to establish a hairstyle that will be well-suited for their everyday life.
What inspires your creativity? I’ve always been very artistic. I love making people feel good and look beautiful. Makeovers are my favorite! I am able to enhance the client’s true beauty inside and out.
What recommendations would you give to a first-time client who is considering coloring their hair? I would first ask them a lot of questions like what kind of maintenance do you want?, what do you not like about you current hairstyle/ color?, why do you want to color it?, and what are your envisions for your hairstyle? After determining the answers to these questions, I would give the client my professional opinion on what I believe would be best for them.
How do you customize your services for each and every client? I always want to enhance what the client already has (Hair flow, color, skin tones, etc.). This varies from client to client. My goal is to make sure the needs and wants are met for the client.
What celebrity always has great hair? Gisele Bündchen – Victoria’s Secret model
How do you retain your clients? HONESTY! Color can fade due to water, sun, etc. I will be completely honest with what I believe will work best for you.
